Last Show At Backbone

Backbone State Park in northwest Delaware County, Iowa still had plenty to show despite being about a week past its peak foliage time. Maple trees still blazed forth on this dreary and light rainy day. The top image--shot around 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 19, 2013--was captured near the entrance to the park's prominent cave entrance. The bottom image--shot 15 minutes earlier--shows a hillside featuring Balanced Rock (left).
