Then One Foggy Christmas Eve...

2025 brought the proverbial "foggy Christmas Eve" weather to the Cedar Rapids, Iowa area. The following two images were captured from Bowman Woods Park in Cedar Rapids. Above, the image looks northwest at 9:26 pm CST on Wednesday, December 24 and is a 25 second exposure at f/11, ISO 125, 24mm focal length. Air temperature was 37 degrees F. 




9:32 pm. Looking north toward Boyson Road from atop the Bowman Woods Park sledding hill. 15 second exposure at f/11, ISO 200, 24mm focal length. Dense fog persisted through the night. Where was Rudolph? Nikon Z6ii camera.

Yuletide Greetings With Pictures

The lights of Christmastime and the chill of winter always seem to combine for pleasing photographic captures. The following recent four captures of mine are submitted here: Above, our house in Cedar Rapids, Iowa is shown in its festive condition during a light snowfall at 7:54 pm CST on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. Image is a 5 second exposure at f/11, ISO 100, 24mm focal length. Air temperature was 23 degrees F.







7:10 pm, Tuesday, December 16. Christmas lights aplenty in City Square Park in Marion, Iowa. 1.6 second exposure at f/11, ISO 100, 24mm focal length. Air temperature was 37 degrees F.







8:15 pm CST, Wednesday, December 17. Looking north at a festively decorated residential area along Timber Creek Drive at Boyson Road in Marion, Iowa. 6 second exposure at f/11, ISO 100, 24mm focal length. Air temperature was 35 degrees F.

7:15 pm EST, Thursday, November 27, 2025. Night sky over the historic Castillo de San Marcos Fort. 15 second exposure at f/9, ISO 200, 24mm focal length. The fort was constructed from 1672-1695.
