From Blah to Brilliant
Thursday, July 2, 2020
Rains arrived in Cedar Rapids, Iowa around 5:00 pm CDT on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 and continued for about another three and a half hours. Because of the rain, I opted to stay inside and watch a movie. Turning the TV off after the movie was over, I noticed that unusual rosy light through the windows that indicate to you something good is probably happening in the sky. The gray skies and rain were gone and in their place was a brilliant combination of clouds and color! Scrambling for my camera I was able to capture some of it. The panoramic image above looks west from Bowman Woods Park in Cedar Rapids at 8:48 pm.
Similar capture one minute later. Official sunset this evening was at 8:45 pm. Nikon D7200 DSLR camera.
