Heavy on the Snow

With temperatures around 34 degrees F, it started out as heavy rain during the early morning hours of Thursday, February 9, 2023 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, but by about 5:30 am a smattering of snowflakes began mixing with the rain. By 6:30 am the rain had converted to a heavy, wet snow with temperatures now around freezing. The image above looks northwest from 33rd Avenue at 12th Street SW in Cedar Rapids at 6:52 am. By afternoon, the snow event was done, leaving 2-3 inches in the metro area. iPhone 11 camera.
