The rising sun created this painted look to an isolated group of cumulus clouds around 7:00 AM, Tuesday, November 15, 2011. This view looks east from Brentwood Drive NE in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Elsewhere, the sky was generally clear.
I am an award-winning photographer who is passionate about weather and weather photography. I have captured tornadoes, floods, lightning, blizzards, eclipses and aurora--and just plain blue sky. I have been a member of Spotter Network since 2011 and have served as a Linn County severe weather spotter for the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities since 2006. I hold a Technician Class amateur radio license. Helpful locational information for some of these photos is aided by Starry Night Pro 6, Google Earth 5 and an array of radar websites. ON1 Photo Raw 2023, Affinity Photo 2 and StarStaX 2 used in post processing of raw images.
